Athas and the Days of the Latter Earth

For Campaign26 by the illustrious and jacked NBateman, I present my entry.

Technically I started running this in 2025, but not really in a "campaign" format. I have run two session of the Hole in the Oak for my in person table, and two sessions of a dungeon of my creation for my dad and sister at home. Both tables started mainly as an attempt by me to just get a game going without too much overthinking or prep, which has been a great success so far. I have set both dungeons in my campaign world which I am now fleshing out, and my ambition is to be able to run both tables in 1-to-1 time with the actions of each group impacting each other. Both groups exist as adventuring parties in the world, and hopefully this will result in some fun shenanigans down the line.

The timing of this challenge syncs up nicely with City26, since Athas is the name of the campaign world and also the big fuckass city that sits on the coast. I plan to work through this challenge to detail aforementioned city. Something about the idea of a massive city to explore and prop up adventuring speaks to me, so hopefully I can see it through :)

About the name... I completely forgot that Athas is the name of the world of the Dark Sun campaign setting, but it's a cool name so who cares. I was also reading a lot of Jack Vance at the time of coming up with the name, so it should be obvious that the Dying Earth is very tangential. I also didn't know that Kevin Crawford's setting book is called the Atlas of the Latter Earth so lmfao lmao. WHATEVER!!

I will post setting stuff, city updates, play reports, and whatever else here. Thanks for following along, and I hope 2026 is our busiest year of gaming yet.
